Davy Jones of the Monkees passed away yesterday at the age of 66.
I loved The Monkees back in the day. I had all of their albums on vinyl, and I have vivid memories of racing home after school to watch Monkees reruns on TV. The final bell rang at 3:15, and the show came on at 3:30, so I'd haul all of the books needed for homework to my last class so I wouldn't have to waste precious time stopping at my locker before I made the mad dash for home.
Here's a couple of Monkees videos featuring Davy as the lead singer.
I must confess I have several Monkees CDs, and I listen to them quite often. What can I say? They still make me happy.
Rest in peace, Davy. Thanks for being a part of something that brought a lot of joy to a lot of people.

I love so many of their songs! We were poor as church mice but I had two of their albums... :D
