Today's health care summit was actually quite a bit more entertaining than I thought it would be.
I was afraid it would be Republicans going in and acting all reticent and conciliatory. Instead, the went in and gave Bambi a spanking that he won't soon forget.
Here's a little sampling of how he treated every Republican that made a point he didn't like... He cut them off.
Here's a nice example of how petty Bam was today... he criticizes Eric Cantor for using a theatrical prop...
A prop? Uh... that's not a prop, doofus. That's the bill that you all are supposed to be discussing. The fact that Republicans actually *read* the bill and brought it in to reference specific points of disagreement is what they were supposed to do.
The whole thing was a farce. Republicans came to the summit prepared and ready to actually discuss options to that un-Constitutional monstrosity of a bill. Democrats were unprepared and all they had were more sob stories of people who didn't have insurance... Louise Slaughter even told a story about a woman who had to wear her dead sister's dentures.
Why, to hear them tell it, they can't step out of their offices without tripping over a mound of unemployed, dying, and/or uninsured constituents. It's Gone With the Wind outside of those Senate doors!
If you have a spare six minutes, watch this delicious clip of Paul Ryan schooling Bam-Bam about costs, while Obama has to just sit there and take it... glowering just like the pouty little child that he is.
All in all, it showed Obama for what he really is... mean-spirited, rude, petty, childish, ill-informed and incompetent.
It was a very good day.
